Sonflower Early Learning is a high-quality Christian Home Early Learning. We are looking for an Early Learning professional called to raise children as confident world leaders in the truth and love of Jesus Christ. The individual must understand and meet children’s developmental needs, love children with Christ’s love, build team unity, have a growth mindset, be able to follow and implement all Sonflower’s policies, be great working with others, have experience, and meet the Washington State's early learning staff qualification.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to:

Create a warm and caring environment

Meet the needs of all children in the program and supervise and monitor children at all times.

Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect Christ’s love and truth for children, mandated elements, and parental and cultural influences, and promote the children's spiritual, social, emotional, physical, academic, and cognitive development.

Individualize one-to-one and group activities to reflect the unique needs and strengths of all children in the classroom.
-
Follow a consistent schedule, which includes Bible stories, small and large group experiences, free choice time, music and movement, large and small motor activities, skill development, meals, and effective transitions between activities.

Encourage experimentation, exploration, problem-solving, cooperation, socialization, and choice-making; ask open-ended questions and listen respectfully to the answers.

Respond to crisis or emergency situations that may occur. Provide first aid or CPR, prevent the spread of blood-borne pathogens, and access emergency services.

Change diapers and potty train children when they are ready
-
Communicate with parents and send updates to parents via the parent app daily

Keeping the materials, classrooms, and facility clean and sanitized.
Written Documentation

Maintain accurate written records, including assessments, medication forms, individual care plans, incident reports, screening instruments, anecdotal observations, parent/teacher conference documents, and other required forms.
Curriculum Development
-
Assess individual and group needs, attending to special needs, specific interests, strengths, and concerns.
-
With parental involvement, develop balanced lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate and intellectually challenging and address each child's strengths and needs.
-
Establish daily and weekly goals that will promote educational plans.
-
Prepare classroom materials to support lesson plans; change and create learning centers as needed.
-
Adapt curriculum to address and meet individual goals for children as identified in their individualized education plans if necessary.
TEACHER QUALIFICATION ​
-
Must be at least 18 years of age and meet the state's qualifications.
-
High School Diploma/Child care basics/Associate in Early Childhood Education or at least 12 credits in ECE
-
Minimum of two years of work experience in early learning program
-
CPR and First Aid Training/Fooder Worker Card/Portable Background check/Proof of Negative TB test result
-
Ability to apply Early Childhood Development theory in daily classroom activities and adapt to children's individual needs.
-
Excellent communication skills and listening skills.
-
Employment is conditional pending Background Verification and other onboarding document submissions.

Ability to regularly bend, squad down, walk around and lift up to 40 pounds during the workday
